Daredevil: Born Again features influences from the Mayor Fisk comic | Agents of Fandom

“Kevin [Feige] Himself Was Excited”: ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Producer Teases Potential Cameos

New York City is one of Marvel’s biggest playgrounds for superheroes.

Daredevil: Born Again premieres on Disney+ on March 4, 2025, finally concluding the nearly seven-year gap since Daredevil Season 3 first premiered on Netflix. Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) headline the returning characters that also include Frank Castle, aka The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) and Bullseye (Wilson Bethel), in addition to Matt’s best friends and coworkers, Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll).

Although the series has mostly been within the neighborhood of Hell’s Kitchen in the past, with Wilson Fisk set to run for Mayor of New York City, it’s likely Daredevil: Born Again will depart the confines of the 34th Street to 59th Street, between Eighth Street Avenue and the Hudson River. NYC has always been ripe with superheroes in Marvel Comics, and that’s been the case in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well, hosting the likes of The Avengers, Spider-Man (Tom Holland), and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), to name a few.

While Matt Murdock, Wilson Fisk, and their compatriots will always be the primary focus of Daredevil: Born Again, the likelihood of more familiar faces appearing throughout the series is sky-high now that Marvel Studios is at the helm. Still, executive producer Sana Amanat teased in an exclusive interview with Agents of Fandom Editor-in-Chief TJ Zwarych her hopes for others operating in New York, such as Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) and Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), to make Daredevil: Born Again cameos in the future.

“Oh my God, listen, I absolutely love those characters and love Hawkeye, oh my God, love Swordsman. We’re very lucky to have had Tony Dalton. Mohan [Kapoor] was just such a delight on set… I was being coy. But yeah, you know, of course the fact that we have these characters, we wanna play with them. Kevin [Feige] himself was excited about the opportunity to have some cameos here and there. I think we’re very much still focused though on our corner of the Marvel Universe and the street level heroes and being in New York City is pretty awesome. But every so often, if we have the opportunity, I personally would love that.”

Daredevil: Born Again executive producer Sana Amanat on the possibility of Kate Bishop or Kamala Khan appearing in the series

In addition to her work on Daredevil: Born Again, Sana Amanat is also the executive producer on both Hawkeye and Ms Marvel on Disney+. Additionally, since Kamala Khan’s dad (Mohan Kapoor) and Kate Bishop’s stepdad, Jack Duquesne (Tony Dalton) have already been confirmed to appear in the series, it opens the door for other heroes like Kate and Kamala from projects Amanat has worked on to be featured in Daredevil: Born Again.

Amanat brings a wealth of knowledge to Marvel Studios for certain characters in particular, since in addition to her work on the television projects, she’s also part of the editorial team for Daredevil, Hawkeye, and Ms. Marvel comic books. Although characters like Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) or Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) are more likely cameos in Daredevil: Born Again, Amanat’s connection to Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel keeps the door open for collaborations with them as well.

New York City is being developed as the street-level corner of the MCU, and any character (outside of Spider-Man) who lives there is likely fair game, as long as it fits the story being told. It remains to be seen if Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 will feature any MCU characters fans already know and love outside of those who have already been announced. However, with the plan being for the series to continue for multiple seasons, anything is possible.
