The globally beloved K-Pop group BTS are lighting it up like dynamite in an upcoming superhero series on Crunchyroll!
The anime streaming platform announced they acquired the rights for Bastions, an animated series from Korean producers Thymos Media. The series will feature original K-pop songs, most notably with new BTS music as the main track and theme song.
“BTS is expected to provide an overwhelming sense of immersion to the emotions and action scenes of the series by singing the theme song in perfect harmony.”

These new tracks mark the first BTS group project since last June, when they released their anthology album, Proof. Other Korean singers like Heize, AleXa, and Le Sserafim will provide songs for the series.
Bastions anime to feature new BTS music
Bastions follows a group of rookie superheroes in a world where having superpowers is normal and different heroes compete for fame and popularity. This team starts being taken seriously after unmasking a villain that causes environmental pollution. The series is said to combine aspects of K-pop and animation.
Crunchyroll’s Chief Content Officer, Asa Suehira, highlighted this combination:
“Crunchyroll has an extraordinary opportunity to introduce fans to more animation styles from Asia, and this exciting new series from Korea does just that. And having the music of so many K-pop stars really broadens the appeal of Bastions.”
—Asa Suehira, Crunchyroll Chief Content Officer
The five-part series will be available to stream worldwide on Crunchyroll excluding China, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, North Korea, and BTS’ home country of South Korea. It premieres May 13, with new episodes releasing every Saturday.
