By revealing the Season 3 poster with an Instagram post on March 7, 2025, Prime Video and Jenny Han have begun teasing the highly-anticipated upcoming installment of teen drama The Summer I Turned Pretty. The romance series is inspired by the YA novels of the same name by Han. The show follows Isabel “Belly” Conklin (Lola Tung) getting entangled in a love triangle with brothers Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno).
Set in the blissful beach town of Cousins Beach, The Summer I Turned Pretty is a light and breezy watch. Now that we’re one step closer to finding out which Fisher brother Belly will choose, here is everything you need to know about Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty.
What Is ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Season 3 About?

Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty will be a direct adaptation of the last book in Jenny Han’s series, We’ll Always Have Summer. Set two years after It’s Not Summer Without You, Belly is once again torn between Conrad and Jeremiah; while Belly has always flipped-flopped between the two brothers, We’ll Always Have Summer is where she makes her final decision.
How Much Will Season 3 Depart From the Books?

While author and showrunner Jenny Han made some big changes to her books for the show, both Han herself and the cast have emphasized that Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty will stick to the source material. When asked about the potential to adapt her last book in 2022, Han told Variety “I would love to be able to finish telling that story the way that I wrote it.”
In June 2023, People asked Gavin Casalegno a similar question, with the actor responding “I know Jenny is really just strong on staying as true to the books as possible and hitting the main points.” In August 2023, the show was renewed for an 11-episode third season. Considering both Han and Casalegno’s comments, a dramatic departure from the events of We’ll Always Have Summer is unlikely.
When Will ‘The Summer I Turn Pretty’ Season 3 Release on Prime Video?

Season 3 is set to release this July, with the aforementioned poster vaguely mentioning July 2025. The delay is not surprising, however. The SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes that took place in the summer of 2023 postponed production, with Christopher Briney confirming that “[filming] was supposed to happen [in 2023]” at the premiere for Mean Girls (2024). While the announcement proved to be disappointing for many, Han reassured fans that Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty would be “Worth the wait.”
What’s Next for ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ After Season 3?

The post reveals that Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty will be the show’s last. However, the popularity of the series might push Amazon and Jenny Han to expand the story beyond its three planned seasons. When asked about potential complimentary pieces to The Summer I Turned Pretty, head of TV at Amazon and MGM Vernon Sanders told Deadline: “I will say stay tuned, but Jenny [Han]’s got some exciting surprises […] she’s got a vision for more.”
