Do Tobey, Andrew, and Tom Make The Impressive List of Across the Spider-Verse Cameos?

Is there a ‘No Way Home’ reunion in the Sony’s latest ‘Spider-Man’ film?

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse is now playing in theaters and receiving rave reviews from critics everywhere. Following the success of the blockbuster Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans have speculated whether our beloved live-action Spider-Men would be amongst the Across the Spider-Verse cameos.

The third movie of Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man trilogy re-introduced fans to Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. With Across the Spider-Verse leaning heavily into multiverse lore, fans wondered if Tobey, Andrew and Tom would make an appearance. Does the iconic live-action trio grace fans with their presence again or leave the audience wondering about their absence?

Are Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland amongst the Across the Spider-verse cameos?

Tobey and Andrew make an appearance in a flashback about losing loved ones, in their case Uncle Ben. Both shots of are re-purposed from their original films, neither containing any new footage. Andrew in particular gets the most screen time with a close-up of his face during the tragic moment of Uncle Ben’s passing.

We also see the famous shot of Tobey kissing Mary Jane, Spider-Man style.

We do not, unfortunately, see any sign of Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man. Though Miguel O’Hara references him and Doctor Strange‘s multiverse shattering shenanigans in No Way Home that was seen in the trailers.

Will we see them again in Beyond the Spider-Verse?

As Kevin Feige says: “never say never.” We see several surprising cameos in Across the Spider-Verse, some of which mixed live action with animation. Anything is possible in the multiverse, and if the two were willing to come back for No Way Home, the door is always open for more. Tom Holland mentioned that they are in early stages for Spider-Man 4. While the talks have come to a halt amidst the writers strike, it’s clear that Tom is open and excited to play Peter Parker again.
