I Am Groot Season 2 Episodes Ranked From Great to Phenomenal

Will watching Groot be cute ever get old?

Everyone’s favorite little guy is back with five incredible I Am Groot season 2 episodes showcasing Groot on more thrilling adventures. I Am Groot season one delivered five different stories, and was nothing short of a hit, offering an adorable and intriguing look into Groot’s life between his journeys with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Just like season one, these five shorts are incredibly easy to binge with a total run time of 19 minutes, making I Am Groot season 2 just a bit shorter. With each story so different from the other, let’s take a dive into each of the I Am Groot season 2 episodes, and rank them from good to even better!

5. Episode 2 “Groot Noses Around”

Episode two comes in last place, but don’t let that fool you. As a tree, Groot doesn’t necessarily have all the human features, and most definitely not the same as his fellow Guardians. However, this takes a turn within episode two as he finally gains a sense of smell for the first time in his life, and is not impressed. Groot’s lack of knowledge and care is on full display within this episode, but not to its detriment. Episode two is just as light-hearted as all to come before it, and still incredibly enjoyable despite landing in last place.

4. Episode 1 “Are You My Groot?”

Vin Diesel returns as Groot in season two, beginning with episode one where he explores the galaxy beyond the Guardians and meets a frustrating new furry friend, Terma Bird (Dee Bradley Baker). I Am Groot season 2 starts strong with this adorable adventure between these two new-found companions. Episode one returns to the familiar location from season one, episode four “Groot Takes a Bath”, which is a smart choice. Combining a familiar location with a delightful, new character pairing delivers a charming and instantly loveable new episode.

3. Episode 3 “Groot’s Snow Day”

I Am Groot season 2, episode three is filled with hot chocolate, snow and a newfound threat. Episode three shows Groot making a delicious drink and heading into the snow while discovering a new danger of his own making. Although baby Groot is known for standing around and looking cute, he’s still capable of bringing about some interesting problems. If you’re looking for an action-packed episode of I Am Groot that still maintains all the delightful charm, episode three is the one for you.

2. Episode 4 “Groot’s Sweet Treat”

Groot embodies his stereotypical cuteness to a different level throughout this episode with his raging tantrums and adorable outbursts. Episode four reminds the audience why we fell in love with him back in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1. This episode displays a more heartfelt and personal insight into Groot’s emotions, rarely seen within his appearances in the MCU, setting it apart from the rest of the episodes on this list. Episode four is imaginative, wholehearted, and a beautiful tale featuring some of the series most beautiful animation.

1. Episode 5 “Groot And The Great Prophecy”

Episode five takes the top spot within this five-short series, featuring none other than The Watcher (Jeffrey Wright). Although each installment within season two is full of happiness and goofy moments from Groot, episode five takes this to another level, showcasing Groot at his best. Bringing The Watcher into I Am Groot following his latest appearance in What If…? is a wise decision from director Kirsten Lepore, as he watches over Groot in narration on a delightful journey while he roams around without a care in the world.

Each of the I Am Groot season 2 episodes deliver a cuteness overload

As always, it’s a pleasure to see baby Groot in five loveable new shorts, all adorable and perfect in their own way. Both seasons of I Am Groot came as a surprise, but a welcome one. There is perhaps no character easier to accompany on cute little journeys than baby Groot. I Am Groot season 2 contains all the same delightful and carefree scenes as the first season and hopefully there’s more of Groot and his adventures to come. There is only hope that Groot will return for another season filled with more amazing shorts, as after all you can never get enough of Groot.
