Warning: Spoilers ahead for Cobra Kai Season 6, Episode 10 “Eunjangdo.”
For over six years, the Cobra Kai creative team has done a great job of delivering cliffhangers that’ll hook fans in for the new batch of episodes. Cobra Kai Season 6, Episode 10 is no different as it deals a major blow that’ll shock audiences. While Season 6, Part 1 set the foundation, Part 2 hit the ground running with action-packed episodes. The Sekai Taikai has lived up to its expectations, and then some.
Now that Miyagi-Do has eliminated Cobra Kai from the rest of the international karate tournament, their only obstacle is Terry Silver’s (Thomas Ian Griffith) Iron Dragons, captained by Zara Malik (Rayna Vallandingham) and Axel Kovacevic (Patrick Luwis). But are John Kreese (Martin Kove), Kim Da-Eun (Alicia Hannah-Kim), and the rest of Cobra Kai gone for good? Find out in our Cobra Kai Season 6, Episode 10 “Eunjangdo” recap below.
A Startling Revelation Comes To Light in ‘Cobra Kai’ Season 6, Episode 10
The episode begins with Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) having a nightmare about Mr. Miyagi’s (Brian Takahashi/Pat Morita) Sekai Taikai match that led to his opponent dying. The next morning, Gunther Braun (Carsten Norgaard) says the documents Silver gave Daniel in the last episode are authentic, and confirms that deaths in the Sekai Taikai were rare. Gunther gets called away to deal with an emergency before he can provide more clarity. Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Chozen (Yuji Okumoto) do their best to cheer up Daniel.
In the Barcelona hotel lobby, Zara Malik (Rayna Vallandingham) complains to Axel Kovacevic (Patrick Luwis) that sponsors are cutting ties with her after Tory Nichols (Peyton List) exposed her for sleeping with Robby Keene (Tanner Buchanan). Axel is too busy staring down Miguel Diaz (Xolo Maridueña) to listen. Sam LaRusso (Mary Mouser) confesses to Miguel that Axel tried to kiss her. Robby tries to apologize to Tory for letting Kwon Jae-Sung (Brandon H. Lee) fool him, but she can’t deal with him at the moment.
Meanwhile, Kreese follows Silver in hopes of killing him with his silver knife, a eunjangdo. But he’s stopped as Gunther gathers all the dojos to share that four of Sensei Ivanov’s (Josh Lamboy) Udar Tigra students tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs. With their dojo eliminated from the finals, Gunther allows Cobra Kai back in since they had the next-highest score. The semi-finals will pit Tory and Sam against one another, and Axel versus Robby.
The Karate Captain Sekai Taikai Matches Begin in “Eunjangdo”
As Sam and Robby look to their senseis for guidance, Johnny and Daniel offer nothing substantial since their minds are elsewhere. Chozen reminds them that Sam and Robby not only need masters but their fathers as well. While brainstorming different ideas, Daniel and Johnny are at each other’s throats before Miguel breaks them up. Miguel tells them that even though they imparted their respective senseis’ teachings to their students, Johnny and Daniel were the ones who brought Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do together to defeat Silver before. Inspired by his words, Johnny, Daniel, and Miguel take Sam and Robby through Barcelona in a training montage inspired by Rocky.
The Sekai Taikai semi-final matches consist of three two-minute rounds with unlimited opportunities to score without any pauses. A hit is one point, a knockdown is 10, and a knockout is worth 20 points. Now that the captain battles are televised, Amanda LaRusso (Courtney Henggeler), Anthony LaRusso (Griffin Santopietro), and the rest of Miyagi-Do tune into the fights together.
Kwon advances to the finals after knocking out Diego Aguilar (Justin Ortiz) of Furia de Pantera. Zara also defeats Maria Àlvarez (Jewelianna Ramos-Ortiz) of Furia de Pantera and moves on to the finals, hoping to take on Tory. In Robby’s match against Axel, he struggles to break through Axel’s defense. When Sensei Wolf (Lewis Tan) instructs Axel to attack, he lets out a flurry of blows and pushes Robby into Cobra Kai. Kwon elbows Robby in the gut and Miguel rushes over to defend, but Axel shoves him down.
‘Cobra Kai’ Season 6, Episode 10 Features the Biggest Brawl of the Series
Gunther tries to calm the students down as it starts to get heated, but Sensei Ivanov knocks him out, causing everyone in the arena to start fighting each other. In a gloriously epic display, 10 minutes of the episode are devoted to this battle between students and senseis. Amanda and Anthony are scared as the feed is still being televised. The team-ups include Chozen and Kim Da-Eun, Demetri and Hawk, Kenny and Devon, Miguel and Robby, Robby and Tory versus Zara, Sam and Tory, and Daniel and Johnny against Sensei Wolf.
Amidst the chaos, Kreese follows Silver again to kill him with his eunjangdo, but he loses it in the shuffle, so they fight hand-to-hand. As Silver gets the upper hand on Kreese, Johnny stops Silver. Seeing Kwon attack Sam causes Axel to go after him. When Kwon gets knocked down by Axel, he sees Kreese’s eunjangdo and gets ready to use it against Axel. Daniel tries to stop him but when Axel kicks Kwon down, Kwon falls onto the eunjangdo and lets out a guttural scream that stops everyone in their tracks. The final moment of Cobra Kai Season 6, Episode 10 sees Kwon bleeding out as Gunther yells for the televised feed to be cut.
‘Cobra Kai’ Season 6, Episode 10 Ends On a Chilling Note
The moment is so haunting that the end credits for Cobra Kai Season 6, Episode 10 play somber music instead of its traditional score. After Daniel learns that Mr. Miyagi killed his opponent during the Sekai Taikai, being the one to check on Kwon’s lifeless body is an eerie full-circle moment. Despite Kwon’s anger and attitude, his death is undeserved. The moment is well-executed to be as emotional as it should be.
The Cobra Kai creative team does a great job of having this epic all-out fight sequence, only for it to lead to a major character’s demise. Without it needing to be addressed, it shows how rage and violence can lead to unforeseen consequences, including one’s death. It’s hard to imagine this year’s Sekai Taikai continues after this, let alone any future events.
While it’s frustrating that this is where Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 2 ends, audiences will need some time to process Kwon’s death. An official date hasn’t been set yet for Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 3 besides the vague release window of 2025. With this major cliffhanger, fans are left stressed thinking about what could happen next without any idea when to expect the final batch of episodes.
