In this universe, Surtr came to Asgard before Odin could hide the Tesseract. Odin tried to use it to destroy Surtr and save his home, but he failed. Instead of being destroyed, the Tesseract found its way to a new home. We then head to Kahhori’s village where she and her brother Wáhta run out into the forest. They stumble across the Forbidden Lake, which is off-limits.

The pair opt to return home but find their village under attack by Spanish conquistadors, so they flee deeper into the woods. The soldiers chase them underground where they find a glowing blue lake. Kahhori makes a stand against the soldier but ultimately falls in after being shot. The Tesseract is what’s causing the mysterious blue water, and Kahhori gets sucked into the bottom of the lake and teleported to the Sky World.

The immense power of the Tesseract is what gives life to the Sky World and the people who call it home. Although the place seems like a paradise, Kahhori needs to get home so she can save her people. Those who live in the Sky World are content to stay there, away from the world’s problems, but Kahhori wants to use the power to make a difference. Her many escape attempts fail, and she learns no one has ever successfully escaped.

Kahhori Insists on Using Her Power for All the Right Reasons

Kahhori then goes on a hunt where the people in the Sky World collect fruit from the animals which gives them strength. They tell her that no one gets any fruit on their first attempt, but she manages to secure more than everyone else. Back on Earth, the conquistadors go into the lake searching for eternal youth and end up in the Sky World.

They sneak up on the camp, but Kahhori quickly disarms them and takes them down. She realizes her people will never be safe as long as they’re out there, and pulls the portal down from the sky, leaving the Sky World to save her people. No one else is willing to leave paradise, so she sets out alone. When she arrives back on Earth, she tears through the conquistadors with ease, but her success doesn’t last long.

Numbers overwhelm her, but just before she dies, the people from the Sky World come through the portal and save her. Not satisfied with her victory, Kahhori sets out to speak with the Queen and bring peace to her neighbors. In doing so, Strange Supreme (Benedict Cumberbatch) comes through a portal and tells her he’s been looking for her. It appears the Avengers have bigger plans for her.

“What If…? Kahhori Reshaped the World?” has all the elements that make this show special. It has connections to the mainstream MCU we all know and love, but is a unique story that we’ve never seen before.
