Lois heroically launches herself into Brainac’s program “Black Mercy” to conclude the last episode, but when she arrives, she has no memory of who she is or why she is even there. She is taken captive by Brainiac disguised as Superman’s parents, and immediately places her in a holding cell. Thankfully, when a kind Kryptonian named Kal-El enters her chamber and offers her some cake, things begin to turn around for the better.

It takes a while, but when the brainwashed Clark touches Lois’ hand for the first time, she finally remembers her identity as well as her mission. However, once Brainiac finds out that she has been interacting with Clark, he resets the system to kick her out and wipe her consciousness from existence. Luckily, since Black Mercy isn’t built to contain more than one prisoner at a time, Lois survives the attack and returns to the same point in the simulation as when she arrives in My Adventures With Superman Season 2, Episode 9.

Brainiac’s Master Plan Is Finally Coming Together in “Pierce the Heavens, Superman!”

Although being unable to delete Lois from the program throws a wrench in Brainiac’s plans, he still maintains full control over Superman’s body. To make matters worse, his forces have finally reached Earth and are ready to attack. Even though Kara is finally on the side of the Earthlings in My Adventures With Superman, she is no match for Brainiac.

While Amanda Waller (Debra Wilson) even sends her Task Force X to defend Earth, their combined forces are still insufficient. She resorts to demanding Lex Luthor (Max Mittelman) utilize his Kryptonite-infused Metallo robots, but they do more damage than good when Brainiac hacks into their systems and takes them under his own control. Earth is without any of it’s protectors.

Despite her best efforts, Lois continues to have a tough time navigating Black Mercy. Although she can’t die, she keeps resetting to the beginning of the simulation each time she approaches Clark. Even when she gets through to him, he can’t comprehend why she would go through everything she has just to save him. He can’t remember that he loves her, and she can’t find the words to tell him in My Adventures with Superman Season 2, Episode 9.

After many unsuccessful trials, Lois finally sneaks past Brainiac’s defenses and admits to Clark that she regrets ending their relationship and loves him with all of her heart. Despite Clark feeling insufficient, alone, and unloved recently, Lois’ love and inspiration finally breaks through.

I didn’t name you Superman because of what you do, I named you that because of who you are, I love you Clark Kent”

His memory returned and the love of his life by his side, Superman shatters Brainiac’s simulation and regains control of his body. With Kara’s help, the cousins easily dispatch their foes and appear to win the battle. However, Brainiac still has control of Lex Luthor’s Kryptonite Metallo robots and sends them barreling to the ground, unconscious.

The stakes have never been higher, as both Superman and Kara are powerless against Brainiac. He is primed to become victorious in the My Adventures With Superman finale, and it’ll take some masterful writing for the heroes to save the day with their backs against the wall.

Thankfully, Superman and his team have inspired a wide variety of people worldwide throughout the series, and the final episode is set up to be an epic showdown. My Adventures With Superman Season 2, Episode 9 is the best episode of the series to date, with only one remaining until the season concludes.
