The newest installment continues the season’s trend of unique intros to each episode, this time focusing on the childhood of the Brothers sisters (Siena Werber and Catherine Cohen). Check out all the details in our Only Murders in the Building Season 4 Episode 6, “Blow-Up,” recap below!
The Brothers Sisters Top the Suspect List in “Blow-Up”
It doesn’t take long for chaos to ensue, as bullets are fired on set, injuring both Zach Galifianakis and Glen Stubbott (Paul Rudd). For the first time, the trio isn’t just investigating a murder, but they’re actively dodging a murderer. They suspect the Brother’s sisters are to blame as they had every opportunity to fire the bullets. The only problem is, they have no proof. They send Howard (Michael Cyril Creighton) to follow the Brothers sisters around, which he can do inconspicuously as the on-set documentarian in Only Murders in the Building Season 4, Episode 6.
Oliver has an epiphany and realizes he should be spending more time with the love of his life, Loretta (Meryl Streep), but his realization is interrupted by NYPD detective Donna Williams (Da’Vine Joy Randolph), who informs the trio that the mysterious Professor Dudenoff has secretly been in town the entire time, cashing social security checks. However, as they make breaks in the case, it’s revealed there are hidden cameras in Oliver’s apartment, and the Brothers sisters are spying on them.
Dudenoff’s Secrets Finally Come To Light in Episode 6
The connections between characters begin to pile up in Only Murders in the Building Season 4, Episode 6, as it’s revealed Professor Dudenoff was the film professor of the Brothers sisters. Additionally, as the trio watches the Brothers sisters’ old films, they notice none other than Vince (Richard Kind) of the West Tower of The Arconia. Professor Dudenoff is the web that connects all the suspects.
As Charles reels about his fears of Loretta cheating on him and Charles and Mabel are ready to track down Dudenoff, the ashes of Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch) spill to the floor, and her metal joints spill from the canister. However, the trio realizes there are multiple joints from the same side of the body, meaning there is a second murder victim they hadn’t known about. To make matters worse, the second body is revealed to be none other than Professor Dudenoff himself.
‘Only Murders in the Building’ Season 4, Episode 6 Review: Are the Trio in Over Their Heads?
With Dudenoff gone, the trio can’t help but wonder who has been cashing his social security checks and pretending he’s alive. They confront the Brothers sisters, who reveal their innocence and share that the cameras in Oliver’s apartment are for their next film and that he signed a waiver allowing them to be put there.
However, they all receive messages from Sazz’s former phone, with different angled videos proving guns have been focused on them from a distance, and their lives have been in danger the entire time. Only Murders in the Building Season 4, Episode 6 ends on a cliffhanger that not only sets up an exciting end to the season but caps off one of the best episodes in the series’ history.
