’Deadpool 3’ Adds Emma Corrin To The Cast
Star of The Crown and Pennyworth, Emma Corrin, has joined the cast of Deadpool 3! But as who?
Following the announcement that Hugh Jackman would be reprising his role as Wolverine, fans were starving for any news related to Deadpool 3. No other cast members have been reported since. But this Valentine’s Day, Ryan Reynolds shared on Twitter that Emma Corrin will be joining “The Deadpool family”!
Theories on Emma Corrin’s character
Emma Corrin is known for their role as Princess Diana in Netflix’s The Crown series. While specifics regarding their character are being kept under wraps, Deadline reports that they will be the villain of Deadpool 3.
Very little is known about the plot of the film, so villain theories for Deadpool and Wolverine will be all over the place. Our very own Agents Carlos Freytes and Damon Gray theorized that Mojo could be the reason why this long-awaited team up is happening.
Emma Corrin as Gwenpool?
Initial reactions to the Emma Corrin casting news had fans guessing they’ll play Gwenpool. But once they heard that Corrin would be playing the role of the villain, their minds went elsewhere. However, I like to think Gwenpool could still be the antagonist of Deadpool 3. Gwendolyn “Gwen” Poole is from a universe like ours, where heroes are fictional characters that we see in multimedia. They could be a fan of different superhero films, one of them being Logan.
Following the announcement that Jackman was reprising his role as Wolverine, some fans were worried that his appearance in Deadpool 3 would ruin the ending of Logan. However, fans can breathe easy. Reynolds and Jackman already addressed that the film will take place before the events of Logan, so the legacy is safe.
Despite Jackman’s affirmation, some people are still opposed to seeing Wolverine return for Deadpool 3. Logan closed the book on his run as the character in such a satisfying way, so some mild skepticism is to be expected. Maybe Gwenpool is one of these people, and they want to stop this team-up from happening. It’s an interesting premise that would make for a very meta film, but that’s to be expected from Deadpool.

Deadpool 3 is scheduled to release in theatres on November 8, 2024. With filming set to begin around May 2023, we’re bound to hear more details surrounding the movie in the coming months.
