Marvel Studios is going through some major behind-the-scenes adjustments, which include reshooting and reshuffling for certain projects. Entries like Daredevil: Born Again are going through major story adjustments as fans worry about shows like Ironheart and Wonder Man going on the back burner.
2024 is already a slower year for the MCU, with Deadpool & Wolverine being the only theatrical release along with Echo, X-Men ’97, and more on Disney+. But with the Multiverse Saga in such a state of flux due to a rough year in 2023, fans are surely worried about what’s ahead.
Recently, rumors indicated Marvel will not be as generous with sequels for underperforming movies, leaving films like Ant-Man 4 and Captain Marvel 3 as question marks. But thankfully, the MCU has no intention of slowing down completely.
‘Wonder Man’ & ‘Ironheart’ In No Danger of Cancellation for Disney+
In an exclusive interview for X-Men ’97 with Agents of Fandom, Marvel Studios Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation Brad Winderbaum gave an exciting update on the MCU’s upcoming slate.
Winderbaum confirmed that both Ironheart and Wonder Man are currently in the editing process following initial production. The producer did not confirm when either show would debut on Disney+, but they are both set in stone for a release.
“Yeah, absolutely. We’re editing both of those shows as we speak. They’re spectacular, they’re amazing, and they’re different…We’re able to explore corners of the universe that are really exciting. Riri Williams is one of them and I cannot wait for people to meet Simon Williams.”

This comes after The Hollywood Reporter shared news in September that it had been completely removed from Marvel’s schedule, leaving questions about its debut.
What Do We Know About the Release of ‘Ironheart’ and ‘Wonder Man’?
For fans worried about the MCU scaling down its massive story, this update is certainly a positive one. In January, Ironheart star Dominique Thorne confirmed “filming [had] concluded” and that fans were in for “an epic journey” upon its arrival.
Riri Williams became a hit character upon her debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever before Thorne’s solo series was confirmed. With that project not having to worry about cancellation, the only question now is how long it will take to arrive.
She’s also set to take on a terrifying new villain in Anthony Ramos’ The Hood, bringing more mystical mayhem into the MCU in this story. And as she makes new advancements on her tech, she’ll be just the latest new young hero rising through the ranks in this franchise.
Wonder Man seemed to be in an even more precarious spot with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II introducing an entirely new MCU character. The show spent much of the last couple of years shooting in Los Angeles, but fans always seemed worried about its release.
Set photos from January teased the show’s title card, although there is still very little known about what will happen in Wonder Man. But with Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton at the helm, expectations for this new series are still sky-high.
