The Callisto Protocol is a survival-horror game released in December 2022, developed by Striking Distance Studios and published by Krafton. It is a spiritual successor to the critically acclaimed sci-fi horror series Dead Space, with both titles directed by Glen Schofield.

The player is a starship captain whose ship crash-lands on a moon called Callisto. He is captured and imprisoned, then has to fight for survival when a mysterious disease infiltrates the prison. The game released to mixed reactions with most gamers citing severe technical issues, however, there have been recent updates and tweaks that could give this game the second chance it deserves. The voice cast for the game comprises Josh Duhamel (Transformers), Karen Fukuhara (The Boys) and Sam Witwer (Star Wars: Clone Wars & Rebels).

The first of the PlayStation Plus October 2023 free games, The Callisto Protocol will be available on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
