Despite all the big names in attendance, Miles Morales voice actor Nadji Jeter was the highlight of the Calgary Expo.
There have always been two characters in superhero fandom whose popularity stand above all others. On the DC side of things, Batman reigns supreme. For Marvel, it’s always the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. For many like myself, Peter Parker is the Spider-Man they grew up loving, an entire new generation is being raised on a new hero, Miles Morales. After the success of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, the sequel Across the Spider-Verse is primed to launch Miles into a new level of stardom.
However, the Insomniac Spider-Man games also have played a huge role in developing the character. Miles Morales voice actor Nadji Jeter sat down with me at the Calgary Expo to discuss the upcoming Spider-Man game, the Spider-Verse sequel, as well as his time on the hit game The Last of Us.

Miles Morales has always been a kind-hearted character. Thankfully, I can say the same about Nadji Jeter. He truly didn’t have to go out of his way to be as nice to everyone who visited his booth, but he went above and beyond your typical convention appearance. Each and every time someone new visited him, he had a bright and welcoming energy that made each meeting the highlight of the Calgary Expo for so many fans. We shared so many fun moments throughout the weekend, including posing with our Agents of Fandom clothing to cap off the event.
Although the upcoming Spider-Man 2 game for PlayStation is the reason Nadji Jeter is currently all the rage, he also played a huge role in the hit game The Last of Us. Nadji played the role of Sam in the game and spoke very highly about his time working with Troy Baker, the voice actor of the main character Joel.

Nadji remained tight-lipped about the upcoming Spider-Man 2 game and potential sequels in the future, however, he assured me Miles’ story isn’t over yet. To increase anticipation for the upcoming game, Marvel recently released a book for Free Comic Book Day that functions as a prequel for Insomniac’s upcoming release. All the buzz surrounding this game has fans around the world beyond excited. I can’t remember this level of anticipation for a video game in my life, with the first two being among the very best games I’ve ever played. I’ll definitely be streaming this one on the Agents of Fandom Twitch page.
The role of Miles Morales has become very personal for Nadji, as he notes he’s been growing with the character since the first game’s debut.
“It’s going to be amazing what we’ve got coming for y’all. I grew with Miles, I started playing him at 13, and we’ve gone through all the stages together, and I can’t wait for y’all to see it.”

Insomniac Spider-Man in Across the Spider-Verse
Similar to his character, Nadji hasn’t had to go through the process alone. He notes how Peter Parker voice actor Yuri Lowenthal has been like a big brother to him throughout their time as Spider-Man. We’ve seen Lowenthal’s character in stills and trailers from the upcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse film, however, Nadji conveniently switched topics to point out an Agent Venom cosplayer beside us. Maybe it was coincidental, and he got distracted, but it seemed to be like he was giving me an expert question sidestep, so he didn’t have to answer.
In addition to our Spider-Man discussion, Nadji Jeter also spoke about the plans for his new production company and label, Too Woke Records. He detailed ideas for not only music but movies, comics, television and more. With the skills he has and a rapidly growing resume, there’s no doubt Nadji will succeed wherever he extends his talents.
